Lounge Map UK doesn't use cookies, doesn't run analytics or tracking scripts, and doesn't have user accounts or a backend server.
The only data this site stores is which venues you've marked as visited or planned, and the dates of your visits. That's saved entirely in your own browser's local storage. It's never sent anywhere, and clearing your browser data will erase it, so use "Back up" in the menu to keep a copy as a CSV file.
If you tap "Use my location", your browser asks your permission and then gives your position to the page so it can work out which lounges are nearest. That happens on your device: your location isn't saved, and isn't sent to this site or anyone else. The map does then load imagery for the area around you from OpenFreeMap (see below), as it would for any area you scroll to. Search works the same way: it only looks through the list of lounges already on your device.
This site loads two things: the public list of The Lounges' venues (names, addresses and opening hours), refreshed periodically from The Lounges' own website and served from this site; and the map imagery, which comes from OpenFreeMap, a free, open-source map service. Your browser requests map images for the area you're viewing directly from OpenFreeMap, so, as with any website, it receives standard request details such as your IP address. Nothing about your visited or planned lounges is included.
Standard web hosting logs (such as IP address and browser type) may be collected by the hosting provider for security and operational purposes, as with any website.
